I suggest creating the mob spawning floor 3 blocks higher than the water trench. 2. They don't have the incline to go in the water. Having a villager (with a name tag applied to it, a bed and a work station) in the 4 blocks above where the mobs fall will encourage zombies to jump in after it.

Mob farms in Minecraft are a fantastic way to gather resources only dropped by mobs. They are also great if players are looking to farm XP. Mob farms work by funneling mobs into a grinder, which ...
Mob Farm isn't working. I'm relatively early into the game and I created a simple mob farm (large spawn area, falls into water crevices, falls into wooden spikes) Problem is, it barely works. I left it on for about 30 minutes and there wasn't a single mob in it. Mobs spawn just as much outside the farm then inside even though there's MUCH less ...
Minecraft – Why doesn't the mob grinder work. This is my 10th failed mob grinder I haven't got one to work even though I've followed multiple tutorials all leading to nothing. Caves in the area have been lit up and this was built near land but above the ocean. The close land has also torches and mobs don't spawn there. My friend built one ...
53. Jul 28, 2018. #1. I built my (vanilla) mob spawner/grinder under the belief that a fall of 23.5 blocks will kill skeletons and creepers (for their drops), but leave zombies alive, because they have a bit of armor bonus or something (so that I can punch them for xp). However, when they fall 23.5 blocks, skeletons and creepers also survive.
Here's a mob grinder I created that works extremely well for afk farming!! Just sit in an afk pool while you leave your house and when you're back, you'll be rich! (The two chest images from the thumbnail are from what I got while afking overnight) (edit: updated video link to new grinder model)

There's a lot of mobs, the server is on normal mode and many players made a mob farm. When a player is alone and AFK on the server for like an hour, they get almost no loot from it. Indeed, mobs are almost not spawning. To add on to this, it is torched everywhere in a 5 chunks area around the mob farm.
Ok so I built a mob grinder and it was working great. 3-500 items an hour. This is more than I need because I only pick up arrows and gun powder. It worked this way for about 4-5 days. Then I helped 2 other players on my server build mob grinders. One of them is identical to mine in almost every way, and the other is smaller.
Why do mob farms not work in bedrock? Most likely the reason it doesn't work is related to you being to far away from the spawning area. And you need to hang around there for the mobs to spawn. This is a major difference related to the Java edition, you (or other players) need to be close enough for the grinder to work.
Ben and Josh show you how to make a efficient mob grinder that does not require killing the mobs and you still get a TON of loot!Dungeon Mob Grinder: https:...

You can add redstone torches to the inside as an option (adding redstone torches will not affect the spawn rate of the mobs). It is recommended to add lights to the top so that no mobs will spawn on top of the grinder which will affect the efficiency of the grinder. You should also add lights to the bottom so that bats won't spawn.

The Mob Grinder is a strong mob grinder added by Draconic Evolution. It has a range of 7x7 in front of the Grinder. When a mob is killed by the Grinder, it will drop experience orbs that despawn after 30 seconds to reduce lag. It is recommended to put a Vacuum Hopper near the Grinder to grab the items and experience orbs. It can be powered by solid fuel or Redstone …

I built (by following tutorials, see below) a Mob Grinder. It's a simple 20x20, with water, etc. But when I go up there, it's not dark inside. I don't use Gammabright and I didn't put torches or anything. I went to have dinner and put hoppers in the ground and stood 1 block away from the spawner, to see if some mob spawn and falls.
11:49 AM. bsamsom said: ↑. i had it set up with an Mechanical User with 20 speed upgrades that stopped working causing the mass mob spawn and then when i set up draconic grinders to clear the skeletons they didn't kill anything. (Note the mechanical user still had a fully repaired weapon in it and stopped swinging the weapon).
Draconic grinder use "Fake player" feature to kill mobs. If you set "/town perm set pve true" then Fake player will get access to kill ANY mob in YOUR town (Draconic grinder will start working) Same thing goes to "Killer joe" or Thaumcraft Golems. It`s all "Fake players".
Mobs only instantly despawn if they're more than 128 blocks from you. Thus, most mob grinders have an AFK spot around y=200, so that the ground is more than 128 blocks away. If moving your grinder isn't an option, then you'll need to light all caves within 128 blocks of your AFK spot.
My Mob Grinder/Xp Farm is Not Working as Well in My Survival World. I needed a form of xp, so I decided to build a mob farm. The design I used is from a YouTuber called gnembon, who makes efficient and impressive farms. I changed it into an xp farm (so it's lower to the ground than the original, a 22 block drop for the mobs).

However, my grinder is not spawning any mobs at all. A little background info: I built pretty much the exact same mob grinder at Y=90 with a drop to Y=63. It spawned some mobs, but not many. I also noticed that spiders tended to block the exit of the spawn room and also climbed up the walls of the tower. I googled a bit and found two solutions.
