Largely missing are the bits of pop-metal fluff that filled out Skid Row; in their place are tales from the dark ...

SKID ROW SLAVE TO THE GRIND Released on June 11, 1991 (Atlantic Records) Review: Crazy how time flies as Slave To The Grind is 25 years old!. You know — from August 1989 to June 1992, I saw Skid Row live five times!Four as an opener and once as a headliner when they actually showed up to Thunder Bay, Ontario back in June of '92!
This album isn't something for people to relax to. This stuff doesn't put you to sleep at night. Skid Row's Slave to the Grind is mosh-pit material to the bone. It may not be Metallica, but it sure is heavy, with a few exceptions of a poorly done slower song and two not-so-poorly done ones.
